Israel discloses reasons behind PA cancellation of near-expired COVID vaccines

Israeli media sources stated that officials in the Palestinian Authority informed their Israeli counterparties that canceling the deal of near-expired COVID vaccines came after the Palestinians' discovery of the deal.

"Palestinian security officials informed the Israeli security that canceling the deal was because of internal Palestinian pressure after Israeli rumors that the vaccines are about to expire and that the Palestinian Authority was informed in advance about the expiration date," Israeli radio said today.

Palestinian security officials said that Israel's announcement of the expiration date of COVID vaccines embarrassed the Palestinian Authority and forced it to refuse the deal.

In return, Israeli security sources confirmed that the Palestinian Authority was informed in advance about the details of the vaccines (12 million doses of Pfizer), including the expiration date, noting that the vaccines are safe until the date of delivery.

Israel tries to convince the Palestinian Authority to restart the exhcange again under which it will receive a similar number of vaccines instead of the ones the Palestinian Authority was supposed to have from Pfizer at the beginning of the next year.

Israeli political sources said that Israel practices pressure to complete the deal and have the vaccines, the radio said.
