Union of Berzeit University's employees condemned "Israel's attempts to enforce sovereignty by the use of repressive violence and intimidation in dealing with the dissenting opinions".

It considered those attempts a distortion of Berizeit's values and the ethics of the Palestinians who are proud of the historic role of women alongside men. 

"The governing body of the Union of Berzeit's employees follow up with those attitudes with big pain and anger, and views the Israeli attacks against women as offense to Dalal Mughrabi, Leila Khaled, Terez Helsah and many other female icons of Palestinian resistence," it said in a statement. 

The statement confirmed that there in place to whoever did such actions in Berzeit which encourages its female and male students to express their opinions and thoughts freely. These distorting practices are weird to the national unity based on resistance basics that have always distinguished Berzeit. 

"This all happened in light of the assassination of Nezar Banat in an attempt to silence him and intimidate the free people. Dozens of Palestinian youths were attacked for their participation in protests to save their dignity and to refuse Israel's policies against the activists," it added. 

At the end of the statement, it called for providing everything needed to remain Berzeit university; academic personnel, employees and students, a space for the free word that cannot be silenced and for taking serious procedures against those involved in distorting the university's vision and values.
