How Activists Reacted to the Latest Video Showing an Israeli Prisoner Kissing Al-Qassam Fighters on the Head

Social media platforms witnessed a massive reaction to unprecedented scenes, shown for the first time, during the handover of three Israeli prisoners by the Palestinian resistance to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza on Saturday.

One of the Israeli prisoners was seen kissing the heads of two Al-Qassam Brigades fighters—the military wing of Hamas while standing on the handover platform in Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

But that was not all. The footage also showed two remaining captives who had not been released, sending direct messages to the Israeli government and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urging immediate intervention to save their lives.

These videos quickly went viral across Arabic and Israeli social media platforms. Many Arab users shared the footage with admiration, praising the psychological warfare strategy employed by Al-Qassam Brigades.

Tunisian Foreign Minister Dr. Rafik Abdel Salam commented on the "kiss" scene via the "X" platform, writing:

"The image is stronger than all Israeli claims and propaganda. A prisoner kisses the head of a resistance fighter because he found compassion and kindness in his weakest moments unlike the fate of Palestinian prisoners, who are subjected to all forms of torture and abuse by the occupation’s machinery."

Observers noted that the resistance outperformed the Israeli occupation in ethics, humanity, media, and psychological warfare.

Regarding the "soldier’s kiss," Haaretz stated:

"Hamas’ prisoner handover was orderly and dignified, though it was hard for Israelis to see a prisoner kiss his masked guards. Israeli broadcasters rushed to claim it was coerced, though it didn’t appear so."
