Thousands Perform Taraweeh Prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Thousands of Palestinians performed Taraweeh prayers on Friday evening, the first night of the blessed month of Ramadan, despite restrictions and tightening measures imposed by the Israeli occupation forces.

Footage showed Israeli forces harassing and intimidating children, subjecting them to humiliating searches, and preventing hundreds from reaching the mosque for prayer. Many worshippers were blocked, particularly after Israel announced restrictions on men under 55, women under 50, and children over 10 years old.

Israel declared that prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan would be subject to security restrictions, escalating its measures against Palestinians.

During a press conference, Israeli government spokesperson David Mencer stated that “general restrictions will apply as they do every year,” without providing further details on the targeted groups.
