Exclusive documents reveal that a British company has shipped over 1,000 ammunition containers to Israel since the start of its devastating war on Gaza, raising urgent questions over the UK’s complicity in Palestinian suffering.
Pyramex Industries, based in Durham, sent at least 16 consignments of ammunition storage units to Israeli arms giant Elbit Systems between October 2023 and April 2025, weighing more than 135 tonnes. The shipments, transported via the Israeli port of Ashdod, included containers for artillery shells such as the 155mm rounds used extensively in Israel’s bombardment of Gaza.
Notably, 360 containers were dispatched in April 2025 alone، coinciding with Israel’s escalation of airstrikes and its brutal siege, which has left thousands starving. Another 160 units reached Elbit’s Haifa facility in December 2023, just weeks into a war that has since killed over 40,000 Palestinians.
Elbit Systems, which produces 85% of the Israeli military’s land equipment, operates multiple sites in the UK. Critics argue that British authorities have turned a blind eye to arms exports that fuel what the International Court of Justice has called a plausible genocide.
Joe Glenton, a veteran and campaigner with Forces Watch, told "Declassified UK": “While the UK government feigns concern over Gaza, British firms are still arming Israel’s killing machine. Empty words won’t stop this، only an immediate arms embargo will.”
The UK government insists it maintains strict export controls, claiming to have suspended licences for military-use items in Gaza, excluding F-35 jet components. Yet with Palestinian civilians enduring relentless attacks, campaigners demand more than loophole-ridden promises.
As evidence mounts of British industry’s role in sustaining Israel’s war, pressure grows for accountability, and an end to the bloodshed.
