Amjad Al-Shawa, director of the Gaza Network of Non-Governmental Organisations, has accused Israeli forces of systematically targeting Palestinian civilians under the guise of aid distribution. In an exclusive statement, Al-Shawa described how starving families seeking food are being funnelled into deadly ambushes, turning humanitarian access points into sites of slaughter.
"People left their homes in desperation, hoping to secure even a bag of flour for their children," he said. "Instead, they were gunned down, some returned as corpses, others vanished entirely."
Medical sources reported that at least 20 Palestinians were killed and more than 120 wounded in the latest massacre near the Netzarim corridor south of Gaza City. Earlier the same day, Israeli drones and artillery fired on crowds waiting for aid in central Gaza, killing three, including a child.
Al-Shawa condemned Israel’s blockade as a deliberate act of starvation, with over 130,000 tonnes of aid deliberately held at crossings while Gaza’s population faces famine. "The trickle of aid allowed in is a cruel mockery," he said. "It sustains no one, it only prolongs the suffering."
With malnutrition and disease spreading, Gaza’s humanitarian crisis has reached catastrophic levels. Al-Shawa called for urgent international intervention, warning that Israel’s siege and targeted killings amount to a campaign of collective punishment.
"When food becomes a death trap, and hunger a weapon, the world must ask: how long will this extermination be allowed to continue?" he said.
