Following her release from Israeli custody, French-Palestinian MEP Rima Hassan reaffirmed her steadfast dedication to the Palestinian cause, announcing preparations for a new humanitarian vessel named “Hanzala.” This name honours the emblem of Palestinian resistance and resilience.

Hassan was detained after taking part in the “Madeliene” flotilla, which sought to challenge Israel’s unlawful blockade of Gaza. Speaking after her release, she declared, “Freedom is not given — it is seized,” signalling her determination to continue the fight.

The forthcoming “Hanzala” mission aims to deliver vital aid to Gaza while sending a powerful message of solidarity and resistance. Hassan’s commitment highlights the ongoing struggle for justice, fought both at sea and within European political arenas.
