Tens of thousands marched across Europe this weekend, their chants echoing from Paris to Manchester, as anger grows over Israel’s relentless assault on Gaza. From Berlin and Brussels to Madrid and dozens of other cities, demonstrators filled the streets demanding justice, an immediate ceasefire, and unrestricted humanitarian access to the besieged Strip.
Waving Palestinian flags and carrying placards condemning Israel’s war crimes, protestors denounced the collective punishment of Gaza’s population and the silence of Western governments. Many called out the blatant double standards of international diplomacy and urged global leaders to hold Israel accountable for its continued defiance of international law.
The protests come amid what Palestinians describe as a genocide unfolding in real time. Since October 7, 2023, over 180,000 people have been killed or wounded, the majority women and children. More than 11,000 remain missing under the rubble. Entire neighbourhoods have been erased, and famine now haunts Gaza’s shattered communities.
In capitals once praised as defenders of human rights, the cries from Gaza are no longer distant—they are front and centre, carried by thousands demanding an end to complicity and a beginning of justice.
