From Rabat to Tangier, thousands of Moroccans flooded the streets on Sunday, raising their voices in defiance of Israel’s relentless assault on Gaza. Waving Palestinian flags and holding portraits of Al-Aqsa, demonstrators marched in solidarity with a people under siege, sending a clear message: the Moroccan street stands with Palestine.
Organised by the Moroccan Front for the Support of Palestine and other civil groups, the protests erupted across Fes, Safi, and beyond. Chants against genocide, Zionism, and Western complicity echoed through the cities, as banners declared unwavering support for Palestinian resistance and condemned the continued blockade of Gaza.
The demonstrations coincided with the launch of an international aid convoy, where activists from 32 countries are attempting to reach Rafah with humanitarian supplies and solidarity. The convoy, expected to gather in Cairo before moving toward Gaza, reflects a growing global frustration with the silence of governments and the failure of international institutions to stop the bloodshed.
Since October, Gaza has endured a war with no limits. Backed by the United States, Israel’s campaign has killed or wounded over 184,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children. Entire neighbourhoods lie in ruins, famine is widespread, and the dead are buried without names.
In Morocco, as elsewhere, the people are making their stance known: the world may look away, but they will not.
