Gaza’s Hospitals on the Verge of Collapse as Aid Centres Turn into Killing Zones

Gaza’s healthcare system is operating below minimum capacity amid unrelenting Israeli bombardment and a total blockade on medical supplies. Dr Marwan Al-Hams, Director of Field Hospitals in the Strip, warned on Tuesday that hospitals are overwhelmed, with staff forced to ration

basic items like gauze and treat patients on floors due to a lack of beds. His warning followed yet another massacre, at least 65 Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrikes in the Bir 19 area while waiting for aid. Similar scenes unfolded in Khan Younis the same morning, where 51 more were gunned down near a U.S.-Israeli aid drop zone. Since 27 May, 338 Palestinians have been killed and over 2,800 injured while attempting to reach food.

The Health Ministry and human rights groups say these attacks amount to war crimes. Distribution points have become militarised spaces of terror, run by forces that claim to deliver aid while shooting the starving. The so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation", a key player in this system, has been directly accused by Euro-Med Monitor of complicity in a campaign of organised starvation.

Dr Al-Hams called on the international community to act immediately, not only to stop the bloodshed, but to allow desperately needed food, medicine, and clean water into a territory being systematically emptied of life.
