Starvation as Strategy: Israel Accused of Turning Gaza’s Food Lines into Killing Zones

In Gaza, seeking food has become a death sentence. The Government Media Office has accused Israel of deliberately using hunger and sniper fire as weapons of war, turning aid distribution points into sites of execution in a systematic effort to starve, terrorise, and dismantle Palestinian society.

Speaking to Safa News Agency, Media Office Director Ismail Al-Thawabta stated that Israel’s campaign is no longer a conventional war but “a genocidal strategy enforced through engineered chaos.” According to his office, over 549 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4,000 injured while attempting to access aid. Many were struck by high-precision rounds aimed at vital organs, a pattern suggesting deliberate intent to kill.

This "weaponised starvation," Al-Thawabta said, is accompanied by chaos instigated through the arming of gangs, destruction of aid convoys, and sabotage of Gaza’s already fragile food, water, and health infrastructure.

Hospitals are nearly all non-functional. Medical supplies have vanished. Surgeries are carried out without anaesthetics or sterilisation. Water systems have collapsed, raising the threat of dehydration and disease, compounding the agony of over two million besieged civilians.

The U.S.-backed “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” tasked with overseeing aid distribution, has been sharply condemned for facilitating deliveries through unsafe zones often targeted by Israeli fire. Gaza’s authorities argue that those enabling or tolerating this system bear moral and legal responsibility for crimes against humanity.

With 189,000 Palestinians killed or wounded and tens of thousands still missing since October 2023, Gaza officials are calling for an urgent international investigation. As the world watches in silence, a famine engineered by force continues to devour a population with no way out.
