Activists call to boycott Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank

Activists launched an online campaign to boycott Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank due to its cooperation with Bank Leumi (Israeli), which is involved in settlement activities in the Palestinian territories.

The popular campaign to boycott Israeli projects said on Twitter that the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank had signed an agreement with Bank Leumi, which is on the United Nations list of companies involved in illegal Israeli settlements, and called for boycotting it.

On September 16, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank announced the signing of an agreement with Bank Leumi, the second largest bank in Israel, to explore areas of cooperation in the United Arab Emirates, Israel and other international markets.

The agreement between the two banks came one day after the UAE and Bahrain signed agreements to normalize relations with Israel.
