Gaza Faces Largest Massacre in Modern History as World Watches in Silence

The Government Media Office in Gaza has issued a stark warning, describing the ongoing siege and starvation campaign imposed by the Israeli occupation as leading to the “largest mass massacre in modern history,” while the world continues to look away.

In its statement, the office highlighted that over 2.4 million people are now trapped in a humanitarian catastrophe of unimaginable scale. With the crossings completely sealed and aid shipments blocked, Gaza’s population is facing a deliberate and systematic campaign of extermination. Now on the 140th day of total siege, the Strip has been entirely deprived of food, medicine, baby formula, and fuel, plunging civilians into conditions of slow death.

Among those suffering are 1.1 million children, now at the heart of what the office describes as a collapsing humanitarian and health system. Fuel shortages have crippled hospitals, water stations, and bakeries, while the death toll from hunger continues to rise. The Ministry of Health has confirmed the deaths of at least 71 children due to hunger and malnutrition, an alarming figure expected to increase without immediate international intervention.

“This is not a humanitarian crisis, it is an engineered catastrophe,” the statement read. “We are witnessing cold-blooded extermination, and the international community has become a silent accomplice through its inaction.”

The media office urged international institutions, governments, and humanitarian organisations to act with urgency and conscience, stressing their legal and moral obligation to halt the ongoing massacres and ensure the immediate delivery of aid to Gaza’s starving population. Without such action, Gaza’s descent into mass death will continue unchecked.
