In a brazen daylight operation, Israeli occupation forces kidnapped Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, Director of Abu Yousef Al-Najjar Hospital and General Director of Field Hospitals in Gaza, on Monday as he visited the Red Cross field hospital west of Khan Yunis.

Medical sources confirmed that a special Israeli unit ambushed Dr. Al-Hams outside the hospital, in an area near "Fish Fresh." During the raid, occupation forces opened fire, injuring the driver of the ambulance transporting the prominent doctor.

Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, condemned the abduction, holding the Israeli authorities fully responsible for Dr. Al-Hams’ safety. He described the act as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and a deliberate attack on the healthcare system and its workers.

The arrest comes amid a relentless campaign of intimidation and destruction targeting Gaza’s medical infrastructure. As hospitals collapse and medics are systematically hunted down, the health system is being pushed beyond the brink, leaving a defenceless population without care, and the world yet again watching in silence.
