Since October 2023, Israel has imposed a brutal policy of engineered starvation on Gaza, using food and medicine as weapons of war. By sealing border crossings, blocking aid, and systematically destroying agriculture, Israel has plunged the Strip into famine, violating international law with devastating consequences.
Over 470,000 Palestinians now face catastrophic hunger, with children, the elderly, and the sick dying as families risk their lives for scraps of food. Economist Dr. Nael Mousa describes this as a deliberate strategy, cutting off food, water, and medicine to break Gaza’s resilience.
Aid alternatives have failed. Air-dropped supplies often land in Israeli-controlled zones or kill civilians when parachutes fail. The much-hyped maritime corridor collapsed amid intensified attacks, like the Nuseirat massacre in March 2025, where 600 were slaughtered. Meanwhile, the Israeli-American GIHF’s chaotic aid distribution has become a death trap, with Israeli forces repeatedly attacking starving crowds.
As the UN warns of unprecedented famine, Israel’s siege ensures Gaza’s 2.3 million people remain trapped in what experts call one of the worst man-made humanitarian crises in history.
