UNESCO approves financing 7 projects for Palestine

The Palestinian National Committee for Education, Culture and Science announced the approval of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to fund 7 projects for the benefit of Palestine for the year 2021, as part of the contribution programs that the organization provides to member states.

The committee clarified in a statement last Tuesday that the projects will be implemented in coordination with the committee and the partner and relevant ministries, in addition to a number of projects directed at civil society institutions, a project to be implemented for the benefit of the National Education Committee, and a project for the Palestinian clubs affiliated with UNESCO.

The Committee’s Secretary-General thanked UNESCO, represented by the Director-General and the Contribution Program Sector, for responding to the project proposals submitted by Palestine for the year 2021 after joint efforts through a committee that selected it at the level of the nation’s institutions.

The Secretary-General expressed his gratitude, calling for more specialized international efforts that Palestine needs, especially in light of the challenges and violations it is going through that plague the cultural and civilizational reality.

He confirmed that working under an international organization such as UNESCO provides a valuable opportunity for the State of Palestine to present programs and projects that are compatible with the priorities and orientations of the organization and national priorities.
