Mufti condemns prevention of restoration work at Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Holy Land, Sheikh Mohammad Hussein, condemned the Israeli authorities prevention of restoration work in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is supervised by the Reconstruction Committee of the Islamic Endowments Directorate in Jerusalem.

He also condemned, during a meeting with the Mufti of the governorates, on Tuesday, that the Israeli authorities prevented the Hebron Rehabilitation Committee from completing the restoration and maintenance work at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.

It was emphasized that Al-Aqsa and the Ibrahimi mosques are for Muslims only and others have no right to interfere in their affairs.

In addition, the Muftis warned of the settlers plan to transform the palace of the Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem into a synagogue and doubling the number of settlement units from 28 to 56 settlement units, as part of the Israeli efforts to Judaize the city and obliterate all of the Arab and Islamic features.

They called on all international organizations, including UNESCO, to take firm positions against the attacks by the Israeli authorities and their settlers against Al-Aqsa Mosque and its Muslim pilgrims and their continuous aggression against Palestinian mosques and churches.

The meeting of the Dar Al Iftaa discussed the mechanism of its work and advancement, especially in light of the difficult circumstances and the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.
