Israel demolishes 13 Palestinian-owned structures in Jerusalem in January

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center stated that the Israeli occupation authorities issued 13 deportation decisions against Jerusalemites from the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Old Jerusalem last January, and demolished 13 structures in occupied Jerusalem.

In a report monitoring the violations of the occupation last January, the Center stated that 9 out of these decisions were to deport from Al-Aqsa Mosque and 4 from Old Jerusalem, including employees from the Islamic Endowments Department.

The center pointed out that more than 720 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the occupation police prevented worshipers from entering the mosque and Old Jerusalem, especially on Fridays.

At the end of January, the occupation authorities banned, for 4 days, all restoration and maintenance work for all sites in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and prevented the entry of necessary maintenance materials, and threatened the staff of the Reconstruction Committee and the Director of Construction in Al-Aqsa, with arrest if work continues.

According to the Center, the occupation authorities arrested 179 Jerusalemites, including 56 minors and 7 women, and demolished 13 structures.

It also stated that 70 dunums of the Wadi al-Rababa neighborhood are threatened with confiscation in favor of settlement projects in the place.
