Palestinian prisoner is in critical condition

The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Committee said that the Israeli Prisons Administration continues to neglect the health condition of the elderly prisoner, Muwaffaq Arouq (78 years), who is in Ashkelon Prison.

The committee pointed out that the prisoner Arouq has recently suffered from low blood pressure and permanent fatigue in addition to his suffering from permanent heartburn throughout his body.

It added that the prison administration continues to neglect the prisoner's repeated requests to provide him with special food due to his difficult health condition, as he can only eat liquids and soup, in addition to that he takes six types of drugs daily.

It is worth mentioning that Arouq is from Nazareth. He suffers from cancer and needs specialized medical follow-up.

Arouq has been detained since 2003 and sentenced to 30 years of imprisonment. He is one of at least 11 prisoners suffering from cancer, and the occupation authorities continue to detain them in tragic conditions that do not suit their difficult health conditions.
