Israeli court rejects Jerusalem families' appeal

Central Occupation Court in Jerusalem issued a decision rejecting the appeal of three families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, against the Magistrate’s Court decision to evict them from their homes.

The National Coalition for Defense of Palestinian Rights in Jerusalem reported to Safa that the decision of the Magistrate’s Court gives the families of Hammad, Dawoudi and Dajani the deadline to evacuate from their homes until the date of 8-1-2021, and their number is 7 families of 25 persons, including 8 children.

The coalition stated that the Israeli Central Court rejected the appeal of four families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood on Feb 10, 2021, and they numbered seven families of 30 persons, including 10 children, against the decision of the Magistrate’s Court issued against them in October 2020.

The Israeli Magistrate's Court issued a decision to activate the evacuation of the Al-Sabbagh family, which consisted of 5 families and numbered 32 individuals, including 10 children, in November 2020.

The coalition also pointed out that these decisions put 8 families, 19 families, 78 individuals, including 28 children, at risk of forced displacement at any moment.
