Israel receives a notification from the International Criminal Court

Channel 12 (Israel) revealed that Israel received a notification from the International Criminal Court, which had the information of the start of the investigations into Israel's crimes.

The International Criminal Court sent Israel a letter, consisted of a page and a half, describing the causes that will be investigated; the Israeli war over Gaza (2014), protests on Gaza's borders, and settlements.

Israel must respond to the court in less than 22 days.

The court's law states that it must have a response from the defendant in a month.

Benny Gantz, Minister of Defense, called on Israeli ministers to respond to the International Criminal Court's letter and move towards replacing the court's current prosecutor with a British one.

Gantz met the officials of the Ministry of Justice and security, a week ago, to prepare for the response.

It is expected that Tel-Aviv will say that the court lacks jurisdiction to look into the accidents that happened in the occupied territories.

Channel 12 expected that the causes of March of Return, settlements that the International Criminal Court will investigate are more sensitive than the Israeli war over Gaza.
