Opposition to Israel’s plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip is gaining momentum across both international and Arab diplomatic circles. Foreign ministers from Australia, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom jointly condemned the decision, warning that such military actions risk breaching international humanitarian law and deepening Gaza’s suffering. They reiterated their commitment to a negotiated two-state solution and called on Israel to urgently reform its restrictive registration system for humanitarian organisations operating in the territory.
In parallel, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney publicly criticised the occupation plan as misguided, highlighting that it would worsen the humanitarian crisis rather than alleviate it. He cautioned that the escalation would endanger the remaining hostages and further destabilise the region.
This mounting resistance reflects a broader international concern that Israel’s expanding military campaign in Gaza threatens not only civilian lives but also any prospects for peace, while deepening the isolation and devastation faced by Palestinians under siege.
