The Central Elections Commission (CEC) confirmed that after the start of the registration and during the early hours, several lists were registered since this morning.
CEC said, during a press statement, that: "Things are going right and there is a demand for candidacy," stressing that it is too early to talk about the number of lists that have run until this moment.
"They have asked the police to secure the committee’s headquarters, and they are cooperating with them well in accordance with what has been agreed upon," it added, indicating that it remains to close the door for nomination of lists for 12 days.
It is worth noting that the CEC had announced the start of receiving applications for candidacy for the Palestinian Legislative Council elections 2021, starting from Saturday morning until the evening of Wednesday 3/31/2021, including official holidays, at the committee's headquarters in Al-Bireh city, and the regional headquarters in Gaza City.
It also explained that candidacy is through electoral lists based on full proportional representation, and individual candidacy applications are not accepted, so that the number of candidates for the list is not less than 16, and no more than 132 candidates.
