Hamas: We do not count on any change within the Israeli society

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas said that the identity of any forthcoming Israeli occupation government will not change the nature of the freedom struggle with the Israeli occupation.

Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum said in a statement, a copy of which obtained by Safa, that "We do not count on any change within the Israeli society, as all of them come as a result of an Israeli settler-colonial project aimed to perpetuate the Israeli occupation at the expense of Palestinian rights."

"The identity of any forthcoming Israeli occupation government will neither change the nature of the freedom struggle with the Israeli occupation that should be resisted, nor will it affect the Palestinian fight to end this occupation," Barhoum continued.

"We count on our Palestinian people’s will and their continuous and accelerating resistance as a legitimate right to defend their rights, face off the Israeli occupation and all of its plots, and foil all schemes intended to liquidate the Palestinian cause," he added.
