Haniyeh: Resistance and unity are basic pillars for achieving Palestinians’ aspirations

The head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, said on Tuesday that adherence to the Palestinian fundamentals, the continuation of the comprehensive resistance, and the protection of national unity are crucial pillars for achieving the aspirations of our Palestinian people.

During the second international student conference entitled: “The Role of Student and Youth Organizations in Supporting the Palestinian Cause and Rejecting Normalization” in Gaza, Haniyeh affirmed the right of the comprehensive resistance in all its forms, means, and tools, foremost of which is military resistance as a right guaranteed in all legitimate and international laws.

"Resistance is a realistic option, through which we were able to liberate the land of Gaza and the prisoners, and we are stick to the resistance until liberation and the establishment of the State of Palestine," Haniyeh added.

"We agree on the shape of the resistance, and all options are available," said Haniyeh.

Haniyeh stressed Hamas movement’s adherence to the Palestinian constants and “not to forfeit one inch of Palestinian land, or to give up the right of return for all the forcibly displaced Palestinian refugees from their land in all places of the diaspora, in addition to liberating prisoners.”

Regarding national unity, he affirmed that the Palestinian people are united inside and outside the land of Palestine, stressing the adherence to rebuilding the Palestinian Liberation Organization from the gate of a new Palestinian National Council.

 


"We pushed with full force, through dialogue with Fatah and the factions, to establish a new state of restoring unity and building the political system on a democratic basis through free and fair elections that begin with legislative elections, then presidentialو and then a national assembly."

“These elections should devote the principle of partnership and open the way for rebuilding national leadership references at all levels, whether the authority or the PLO, and we are serious about implementing all that was agreed upon in the Cairo dialogue and the outputs of the secretaries-general, including the Istanbul understandings,” Haniyeh added.

He continued, "We believe that division is an exceptional form of the history of the Palestinian people, and our people are facing plans to settle the Palestinian cause, whether by annexation, the deal of the century, or normalization and division of Al-Aqsa."

Haniyeh concluded by thanking all the participating forces, factions, and the Participants from Gaza and other countries who refused normalization, through activities in which they expressed a rejection of normalization.
