The Central Elections Commission is scheduled to close the door to candidacy for the Legislative Council elections at the end of the day.

The Election Commission had set the Candidacy period for the legislative elections from 20 to 31 March.

The commission stated that the total number of candidacy applications submitted since the beginning of the candidacy process until the end of Tuesday's working hours reached 25 electoral lists, to compete in the 2021 Legislative Council elections.

The committee indicated that it had accepted the candidacy of five lists, and that it was officially informed of the accreditation decision, while it continues to study the remaining requests.

The door for candidacy for the 2021 Legislative Council elections will remain open until midnight on Wednesday March 31, 2021.

The initial disclosure of the lists will be officially announced on April 6.

Among the most prominent factions that submitted their lists until yesterday were the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, while Fatah is expected to present its list today.
