Hamas condemns shooting at house of election candidate in Hebron


The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas condemned the shooting at the house of one of the candidates for one of the lists of Fatah movement in Hebron, in the south of the West Bank.

"The shooting incident that targeted the house of the candidate, lawyer Hatem Shaheen, in the city of Hebron, is a worrying indication of the increase in illegal acts in the West Bank, especially in light of the general election atmosphere," the movement’s spokesman, Fawzi Barhoum, said in a statement reached Safa.

Also, he demanded the competent security services to work swiftly to uncover the circumstances of the shooting accident and to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Gunmen on Monday morning fired at the house of one of the candidates for one of the lists of Fatah movement in Hebron, in the south of the West Bank.

Sources indicated that the gunmen opened fire on the house of the candidate, Attorney Hatem Shaheen, which led to damage to his car and his house’s window.
