Hurryyat: Deporting Jerusalemites from their city is war crime

The Center for Defense of Liberties and Civil Rights “Hurryyat” condemned the successive deportation decisions of the Israeli authorities against the Jerusalemite citizens to deport them from their holy city.

The Center said on Wednesday in a statement that deporting Jerusalemites from Jerusalem is an attempt to empty it of its residents to pass the part related to it in Trump Peace Plan and deny them their natural right to reside in their homeland and defend their city and their holy sites against Judaization and confront settlement and the daily crimes of Israel.

The statement added that the decision to deport Jerusalemite families in Sheikh Jarrah, Silwan, and others is a war crime that must be confronted and the perpetrators of the Israeli political, military, and judicial levels must be accountable.

Hurryyat also condemned the policy of house arrest, especially for children, house arrest, and internal deportation, and the deportation of Jerusalemite citizens Anwar Obeid and Ahmed Derbas for the third time from their place of residence in their town of Issawiya, and the prohibition of contacting their families and friends.

The statement also called on the international community, especially the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the European Union, China and Russia, to urgently intervene and pressure the Israeli authorities to force them to stop their crimes and to retreat from this policy.
