Israel releases prisoner from Bethlehem after 11 months of arrest


Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation reported that the Israeli authorities had released the prisoner, Mohammad al-Shawawrah, 36, from the town of Al-Shawawrah in the Bethlehem governorate in the southern West Bank after he had completed his 11-month sentence.

Al-Shawoura was arrested on May 21, 2020, and charged with belonging, membership, and activities in the ranks of the Islamic Jihad Movement.


Al-Shawoura, who is married and has three children, was previously arrested several times in the Israeli prisons on the grounds of his affiliation, membership, and activities in the jihad ranks and was released from Ofer prison.
