Palestine's Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Israeli military order to evacuate the people of Khirbet Humsa al-Fawqa in the northern Jordan Valley in favor of holding military training, saying it is a true test of the UN Security Council's credibility.
In a statement obtained by Safa, the Ministry said that the repeated attacks against the people of Humsa al-Fawqa, including demolition and displacement, are a real test for the international community and the Security Council in its ability to fulfill its obligations and assume its responsibilities in stopping this racial discrimination and the occupation project that steals the land of the Palestinians.
It emphasized that Palestinian families in Humsa al-Fawqa live a daily nightmare as a result of the continuous measures and attacks carried out by the occupation forces.
"Scenes of this daily nightmare include demolitions, damaging of citizens' homes and facilities, nightly raids, and orders for the citizens to evacuate and leave their homes under the pretext of conducting military training," the Foreign Ministry added.
"This painful reality applies to the various Palestinian communities in the Jordan Valley and falls under the occupation policy aimed at fighting the Palestinian presence in that region in favor of the expansionist colonial settlement project," it underlined.
It stressed, "What is required internationally is to take the necessary measures and sanctions against the occupying state to deter it from implementing its settlement plans, and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people as a prelude to exercising their right to self-determination and ending the occupation and settlements."
