Hamas urges Palestinians to act in response to Sheikh Jarrah’s displacement

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas said that facing off the Israeli plans at Sheikh Jarrah Neighbourhood in occupied Jerusalem is a national duty that requires all the Palestinians to take firm position against it.

The movement said in a statement, a copy of which obtained by Safa, "We are confident that the Palestinians will not save any effort to defend the holy city."

"Today, we are facing the mentality of the Israeli gangs –the same mentality which chased and killed the Palestinians from their homes. This recalls the heinous crimes committed during the Palestinian Nakba in 1948 when Al Ja’ouni and Al Sabbagh families were forced out from their homes in Yafa and obliged to live in Jerusalem," the statement added.

"The scene of injustice and cruelty practiced against Sheikh Jarrah's families and their displacement from their homes for the second time, as well as the displacement of children, women and the elderly necessitate standing up carefully in front of this Zionist arrogance, and activating all forms of resistance to respond to the crimes of the occupation and settler gangs," it underlined.

The movement called on the Arab League and the United Nation to take a firm stance towards this fascist policy of the Israeli occupation government which includes force Jerusalemites out of their homes and taking up their property in front of the eyes of the whole world, which keeps watching the flagrant and racist crimes that contradict the international law and conventions.
