Hamas movement on Sunday condemned the attack by the Israeli forces on Christian worshipers yesterday, as they tried to reach the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to celebrate the Holy Saturday in Jerusalem.

The movement said in a statement reached Safa that the attack confirms the racist nature of Israel, and denies its claims of openness, freedom, and respect for others.

It was explained that the attack on the Christian worshipers came in conjunction with the ongoing aggression on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Muslim worshipers in it.

Hamas called on the international community to abandon the state of negativity towards the ongoing crimes of Israel and to take the necessary measures to curb its aggression and punish it for its violations of international law in its capacity as an occupying power.

The Israeli forces yesterday prevented thousands of Christians from the eastern denominations from reaching the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in the Old City of Jerusalem, to celebrate the Holt Saturday.

Eyewitnesses reported to Safa that the Israeli forces set up iron barriers, beat and pushed Christians and monks, and prevented them from reaching the church.
