The Israeli authorities continue to close the Kerem Shalom border crossing, which is the only commercial crossing in the Gaza Strip, for the twentieth day in a row, and prevent the entry of fuel to the Electricity Distribution Company in Gaza.
The Committee for the Coordination of the Entry of Goods into Gaza said that Israel has closed the Kerem Shalom commercial border crossing since Tuesday, the eleventh of this month and prevents the entry of goods, food supplies, and needs of the people of the Strip under false pretexts.
Moreover, the Israeli authorities prevent the entry of fuel, including diesel, gasoline, and gas, and also prevent the pumping of industrial diesel to operate the only power plant in Gaza.
The cessation of pumping industrial diesel to the station caused a severe shortage of electricity in the vital sectors in Gaza, including the health sector, hospitals, and the sewage sector, as On Sunday, some municipalities were forced to discharge untreated wastewater into the environment and into the seawater, which poses a threat to the lives of citizens and the marine environment.
