NGOs reject the government's decision to form a Gaza reconstruction team

The NGO Network on Tuesday announced its rejection of the decision issued by the Council of Ministers during its meeting in Ramallah yesterday regarding the formation of the Gaza Reconstruction Team.

The network said, in a statement received by “Safa” agency, that it “believes that the decision came without conducting discussion, consultation, and agreement with the various parties. In the forefront of them are the affected parties in the Gaza Strip without the real participation of civil society organizations.”

The network called for "neutralizing the issue of the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip from the political dispute and division, conducting a serious dialogue and discussion between the various parties and agreeing on a mechanism for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, provided that this is done quickly."

Yesterday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh announced the formation of his government's committee for the reconstruction of Gaza, noting that "it is the title for the follow-up and reconstruction of what was destroyed by the aggression."
