Palestinian prisoner on hunger strike Ghadanfar Abo Atwan refrains from drinking water

The Palestinian prisoner Ghadanfer Abo Atwan, who has been on open hunger strike for 61 days, announced his refrain from drinking water as a step in protest of Israel's negligence of his demands represented in ending his administrative detention.

Palestinian Prisoner's Society Club stated that Abo Atwan faces a critical health condition, which deteriorates every hour, in Kaplan Medical Center.

The head of the Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs Commission warned of the risks of the Abo Atwan's health conditions, noting that the Israeli occupation kills him slowly in this way.

He noted that Abo Atwan suffers from numbness in the extremities and a severe lack of bodily fluids which form a real threat to the vital organs of the body, which may result in paralysis or death due to the repeated comas and health setbacks.

He confirmed that the occupation authorities interact with Abo Atwan's case recklessly as it suggests no actual solutions for his cause.

He held the Israeli occupation accountable for Abo Atwan's life, calling on the international community and the international institutions to press the Israeli authorities to release him.

The Palestinian prisoner Maneef Abo Atwan, sentenced to life imprisonment, has been also on open hunger strike for 11 days to support his cousin.
