Committee: Five prisoners start an open hunger strike

Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Committee said that five Palestinian detainees have started an open hunger strike against their arbitrary administrative detention.

In a statement, the committee pointed out that four of them are in Raymond Prison while the fifth one is in the Negev Prison.

It also stressed that administrative detention is a violation of international humanitarian law, according to which the detainees have the right to know the reasons for their arrest. However, the occupation refuses to inform them, under the pretext of secret file.

The committee noted that the number of administrative detainees in the occupation prisons is approximately 540.
