Israeli occupation forces arrested Wednesday a leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas AwadAllah Shtayyeh, from the town of Salem, east of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank.
Family sources reported that Shtayyeh was arrested after his visit toAl-Aqsa Mosque.
It should be noted that Shtayyeh is a leader of Hamas and a reformist in his area. He was elected in 2005 as a member of the municipal council of his town of Salem.
He was arrested several times by the Israeli occupation and spent more than ten years in prison. Also, and he was arrested several times by the Palestinian Authority.
He suffers from a problem in the heart. While he was in the Israeli prisons, he underwent a cardiac catheterization operation. He needs a periodic examination to check on his heart condition.
