The Palestine Center for Prisoner Studies confirmed that during the days of Eid al-Adha the occupation authorities arrested 26 citizens from the occupied city of Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.
In a statement, the center said that the occupation did not take into account the privacy of the days of Eid and deliberately vexed and harassed the Palestinians on this happy occasion. During the past four days, it continued its policy of raids and incursions into villages, camps, and neighborhoods, and carried out many arrests, which affected 26 citizens, including a woman and 5 children.
The director of the center, researcher Riyad Al-Ashqar, explained that the occupation forces raided the town of Beita, south of Nablus, and arrested three young men, namely: Husam Maali, Jalal Dwaikat, and Hira Hamayel, 15, after breaking into the homes of their relatives and destroying their contents on the second day of Eid.
He pointed out that during the Eid days, the number of prisoners on hunger strike increased to 14, after a number of prisoners joined the list of hunger strikers, rejecting the administrative detention policy.
