Jordan's King Abdullah II described the recent Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip last May as "a wake-up call for everyone".

In statements to CNN, Jordan's King pointed out that when wars occur, "there is loss of life and tragedy on all sides."

"I think this last aggression on Gaza was different. Since 1948, this is the first time I've felt a civil war in Israel. I think the internal dynamics we've seen inside Israeli towns and cities have been a wake-up call for all of us."

During the interview, King Abdullah confirmed Israeli reports that spoke of a meeting he had with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Defense Minister Benny Gantz.
