Israeli authorities renew detention of Jerusalemite detainee

Israeli authorities Sunday renewed the administrative detention of the Palestinian detainee Muhammed Abu al- Rish for a period of 6 months for the second time in a row.

Moataz Abu al-Rish told SAFA that he and his family were shocked by the renewal of the administrative detention against his brother.

"We were anxiously waiting for the release of my brother Muhammed, as his previous administrative detention period ends on 2 November," said Moataz.

He called all human rights institutions to intervene to release his brother and stop his administrative detention.

Muhammed Abu al- Rish, 33, from the town of al-Izariya in Jerusalem, was detained at the beginning of last May. The Israeli court sentenced him to administrative detention for 6 months, and he is currently in the Negev jail.

Muhammed spent about 3 years in the Israeli jails before the last administrative detention.
