Today, November 8, is the 20th anniversary of the murder of the Palestinian child Fares Oudeh, who was killed by Israeli forces east of the Gaza Strip.
Oudeh, 15, was shot dead in 2000 while throwing stones at the Israeli troops during the second month of the Al-Aqsa uprising that broke out in September 2000.
He is considered as an "icon" to the people of Palestine for he resisted Israel using the small stones.
He is known for his photo that shows him resisting the Israeli Merkava tank by throwing stones. His photo made the international community realize the Israeli practices against the Palestinian children.
Oudeh, according to his mother, was confronting the Israeli forces every day despite her attempts to prevent him from doing so.
The little child had been a symbol of steadfastness and resistance for the Palestinians. The late President Yasser Arafat used to mention his name in his speeches as a reminder of the Israeli crimes.
Twenty years have passed, and the Palestinian children are a target for Israel.
According to data published by Defense for Children International Palestine (DCIP), Israel has killed 7 children since the start of this year, while it killed 2115 children in 2000.
