Ismail Haniyeh, the chief of the political office of Hamas, said, during a political seminar about the future vision of Hamas to upgrade the national project, that there are 5 main elements to build the Palestinian national project. 

They are represented in the reconsideration of the national project, the agreement on the principles and goals, the rebuilding of the Organization for the Liberation of Palestine, the agreement on a political program and strategy for the current phase. In addition, the agreement on a resistance strategy that matches between the diplomatic work and resistance, including the popular resistance.

Haniyeh called on the re-shaping of the Palestinian national leadership, represented by the Palestinian Liberation Organization based on new principles that guarantee everyone’s right to participate, include all forces, believe in the participation of all Palestinian inside and outside the occupied lands. He also announced Hamas’ readiness to enter a real phase of rebuilding the liberation organization, and a united leadership until the Palestinian national council is established.

Haniyeh also addressed 5 challenges led to the deterioration of the national project, starting from Oslo Accords to the recognition of the Israeli occupation, the deterioration of the role played by the Palestinian leadership, the deterioation of the Palestinian resistance as a strategic option, the recognition of settlement as a only option, and the deterioration of the Arab role and the normalization of relations with the Israeli occupation.
