Jerusalemite families refuse to demolish their houses in Al-Tur

Ten Jerusalemite families refuse to evacuate their houses in Al-Tur in Al-Quds after the Israeli occupation’s court had decided to demolish them, under the pretext of building without a permit.

Mustafa Ashour, one of the residents, said that his family has nothing but this house where they have been living for 8 years. Their financial status does not allow them to rent a house.

He noted that the families threatened with evacuation did not pay their house payments so far. He also said that the occupation fined each house owner 75 000 NIS, 82 000 NIS as a property tax, and 2 000 000 in case they do not demolish their houses.

Last Thursday, ten families were handed over orders to demolish their houses in Al-Tur town in a week, under the pretext of building without a permit.
60 to 70 members have been living in the 5-storey building since 2011.
