Medical sources in northern Gaza have warned of catastrophic conditions as relentless bombardment and systematic destruction target civilians and critical infrastructure. The ongoing genocide has left hospitals overwhelmed, neighbourhoods decimated, and thousands of residents in life-threatening situations.
Kamal Adwan Hospital, one of the last operational facilities in northern Gaza, was stormed by Israeli forces, leading to the forced evacuation of patients, medical staff, and displaced families seeking refuge. Medical teams report that healthcare services are on the verge of collapse, with a dire shortage of supplies and equipment. Snipers and drones have prevented ambulances from reaching the wounded, leaving injured civilians stranded on the streets.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, the hospital’s director, described the devastating impact of the assault, citing destroyed oxygen generation systems, surgical tools, and treatment facilities. The mixing of sewage with rainwater in Sheikh Radwan Pool has created a severe health hazard, compounding the environmental and humanitarian crisis.
Neighbourhoods around the hospital are under heavy attack, with homes destroyed and residents trapped. The rising number of displaced people from areas like Beit Lahiya, Beit Hanoun, and Jabalia has further strained municipal services, including water supply, waste disposal, and sewage management.
Medical sources and humanitarian organisations have urgently called for international intervention to stop the ongoing genocide and ensure access to critical aid. They warn that the systematic targeting of civilians and vital infrastructure is driving northern Gaza toward an unparalleled humanitarian disaster.
