Kamal Adwan Hospital in Critical Condition Amid Ongoing Israeli Strikes

Kamal Adwan Hospital is facing a severe crisis, as Israeli airstrikes continue to target its surroundings, cutting off essential services like oxygen, water, and electricity. Over 100 shells have hit the hospital since yesterday, severely damaging its infrastructure. One of the hospital's buildings is now without basic utilities, putting the lives of patients, especially those in intensive care or awaiting surgery, at great risk.

Hospital director Hussam Abu Safiya has urgently called on the international community for help, as the attacks have hindered medical staff from repairing critical systems. The hospital is currently treating 112 injured patients, including six in intensive care and 14 children, while the emergency department is overcrowded with casualties. Despite these dire conditions, there has been no response to the hospital's urgent appeals for assistance.

Abu Safiya condemned the situation as a "humanitarian disaster," emphasising that the continuous assaults on the hospital are threatening the lives of both patients and healthcare workers. He expressed frustration at the lack of international intervention, warning that the ongoing attacks are severely undermining the hospital’s ability to function.
