The International Union of Muslim Scholars has issued a strong appeal to the Arab and Islamic nations, urging them not to forget Palestine, the primary cause for Muslims and free people worldwide, as the international focus shifts to Syria. Despite the attention now given to the Syrian crisis, Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza remains a pressing issue.
Dr. Ali Al-Sallabi, Secretary-General of the Union, urged the Arab and Islamic world to keep the Palestinian cause at the forefront of their concerns. He emphasized that while the world is distracted by recent developments in Syria, Israel is intensifying its ethnic cleansing operations in Gaza, targeting Palestinians with increasing brutality and impunity.
Al-Sallabi urged global solidarity with the Palestinians, emphasizing the need for continued international support, not only through diplomatic positions but also through actions such as demonstrations and all legitimate means to end the genocide. He also called for immediate action from the international community to halt Israel's genocidal actions, bring justice to the Palestinian people, and support their right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Highlighting the ongoing massacres and human rights violations in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, Al-Sallabi appealed to humanitarian and human rights organizations to closely monitor the situation. He urged world leaders, particularly in the United States, to take concrete steps to end the genocide and uphold international justice for the Palestinian people.
