Hamas leader Nasser al-Din asserted that the extensive demolition and forced displacement carried out by the occupation in the occupied city of Jerusalem represent a continuation of the genocidal war and ethnic cleansing unfolding in the Gaza Strip.
In a press statement, Nasser al-Din explained that the people of Jerusalem draw strength and determination from Gaza’s residents, who steadfastly refuse displacement and insist on remaining in their land and towns despite the relentless bombardment, destruction, and war.
Nasser al-Din commended the resilience of the Jerusalemites, praising their determination to stay in the holy city, even as they live amidst the rubble of their homes destroyed by the occupation’s actions. He stressed the urgent need for a unified Palestinian strategy to protect Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, emphasising the importance of halting the occupation's dangerous plans that threaten the city’s identity and sacred sites.
The leader underlined the current necessity for Palestinians to collectively focus their efforts on Jerusalem. He urged all institutions to unite towards a singular objective: safeguarding the city from Israeli aggression.
Nasser al-Din further noted that the occupation and its settlement organisations have advanced their Judaization efforts to an alarming degree, posing a tangible threat to Jerusalem. He warned that ongoing demolition operations near Al-Aqsa Mosque, alongside increasing incursions marked by Talmudic rituals, signal an intensification of these efforts.
