The United Nations has accused “Israel” of continuing to block humanitarian aid missions to northern Gaza, leaving besieged areas without access to essential supplies.
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric revealed on Tuesday that three aid missions organised by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) were rejected by Israeli authorities. These missions aimed to deliver food and water to northern Gaza, where civilians face dire conditions.
Since the start of December, the UN has made 40 attempts to access the besieged areas. Dujarric reported that 38 requests were denied outright, while two missions were initially approved but later prevented from reaching their destinations.
Dujarric called on “Israel” to uphold its obligations under international law, urging immediate action to protect civilians in Gaza and to allow UN agencies and their partners to deliver vital aid to those in desperate need.
