Bahrain and Israel Wednesday agreed to open embassies, create online visa systems and launch weekly flights soon.
The Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi with his Bahraini counterpart, Minister Abdullatif Bin Rashid al-Zayani said in a press release in occupied Jerusalem that "they have reached an agreement to open an Israeli embassy in Manama, and a Bahraini embassy in Tel Aviv."
Ashkenazi added that "he hopes this would happen before the current year ends."
For his part, al-Zayani reported his country's approval for such a step.
Al-Zayani arrived Bin Gurion airport in a first official visit by Bahraini officials to Israel to meet the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, before US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo joins them.
Brokered by Trump's administration, Bahrain and Israel agreed in September to normalize ties, making mutual services between them.
