Activists and journalists have launched the "Last Call" campaign to raise awareness about the urgent situation at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, located in the northern Gaza Strip. Since October 5, 2024, the hospital and its medical teams have been repeatedly targeted by Israeli military forces as part of a larger offensive on northern Gaza, exacerbating the already dire humanitarian crisis.
The campaign highlights the Israeli occupation’s deliberate strategy to force the evacuation of medical teams, patients, and displaced persons from the hospital. The occupation has been systematically destroying Gaza’s health infrastructure, and Kamal Adwan is among the last functioning medical facilities. Activists and journalists have taken to social media, sharing videos, photos, and testimonies to document the ongoing aggression.
One such video depicts an Israeli-controlled robot loaded with explosives, placed around the hospital. Occupation forces used drones to issue warnings through loudspeakers, urging those inside to evacuate, but medical staff and patients remain trapped, fearing snipers and drones targeting anyone attempting to leave the hospital grounds.
In another chilling report, a citizen was shown lying injured outside the hospital, unable to receive help due to the constant threat of Israeli gunfire. A heart-wrenching video also circulated showing a victim whose remains were scavenged by dogs, while others were left to decompose in the open, their bodies abandoned amid the chaos.
These shocking scenes have sparked widespread outrage online, with calls to document Israel's war crimes for future legal proceedings. Activists stress the need to protect Kamal Adwan and its staff, urging international intervention to stop the ongoing assault.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the hospital's director, was recently injured during an Israeli airstrike on the facility. Communication with him and others inside has been severed as the region is enveloped in continuous shelling, explosions, and destruction. Kamal Adwan is now surrounded by devastation, with Israeli forces burning the remnants of homes in the area. The “Last Call” campaign continues to demand immediate action to save the hospital and its staff before it’s too late.
